It was the fairy tale: being pretty Being considered pretty could TEMPORARILY save individual women from the role 'breeding machine', by becoming 'funtoy'. That's why HUGE amounts of money are spent on 'beauty products'. Better have silicon breasts implants and sex with a rich husband, than with natural boobs being 'breeding machine' of a 'poor bastard'. Such people broadly must be considered as sensing boring. On the other hand there is the label 'pretty'. Extremely often sticked on female persons, but not meaning that these are Beautiful People. Sociologists practice wishful thinking when saying that 'pretty' for a large part in all human cultures means the same. For giving birth to fine children being healthy is sufficient. Gangs have differents preferences, but those tastes are often very temporary. For instance at present the word 'pretty' is most used as a fetish word in porn industry. If you deny the first 2 sayings, then similar 'common sense' logic can be used to say: "The label 'pretty' as used by my friends only indicates what is 'cool' WITHIN their gang". There are enough beautiful people OUTSIDE our gang If you agree in general with the 2 sayings, then you have to admit that the condition 'pretty' only has local meaning. 'Pretty' means nothing in 'deep space', but it gives a hint of what in some 'gang' temporarily is found 'cool'.
