INDUSTRIALISM DEFINITION

abstract thinking is a relatively young loot of intelligence, it'll take some time to get it within safe limits
An ethics around the egoist mental virus 'Gold Fever' and the totally weird concept that ideas can be owned.
Born around 1750 in protestant England. From there it spread to protestant Germany, Calvinist Holland, Baptist USA. From Holland it fled to South Africa.
This mind virus after WWII returned to Europe and untill now infected the whole Capitalist World.

Industrialism built on the apartheid of 'capitalists' and 'workers' together with swift large scale copying rather than on inventive and patient craftsmanship.
That gave new Gods (huge patentholders) like Baptist IBM and HP (just examples)

The  period of 1740-1914 in Western Europe began with the Industrial Revolution. Many people moved to the big cities holding the jobs. Exploiting fellow humans in Industrial labor is is often linked to Protestant ethics. In the English Civil Wars Protestant Puritans defeated the Royalist forces (aiming at mixing protestants and catholics). Quakers, Baptists and Presbyterians had no problem exploiting 'inferior humans' and afterwards made English industrialism a success.

Inherently dual industrialist thinking lead to poor working conditions for 'workers'. This led to ideologies tackling this problem, Capitalism and Communism. Capitalism preffered Individualism and Collectivism was embraced by Communism. Social Darwinism was a compromise for those who couldn't make a choice.

The Myth of the Industrial Revolution: after it ALL people had more wealth, ALL people ate better, ALL people were clothed better, and ALL people had healthier lives and ALL people were more productive. Not even ALL Western people.

Industrial Egoism produced a world were some western people couldn't count their money in a lifetime, and billions of non-western people could do that in a second.

Charles Dickens showed precisely what missed in Industrialism with his quote: A loving heart is the truest wisdom

Ways to handle Egoism

England, Germany and France accepted social Darwinism with democracy. Darwinism is in fact survival of the fittest, and applying of cartesian methodology. Socialism provides the element of collectivism. Darwinism is restricted, because with abstract intelligence humans also developed other than physical means to change thinking. Darwinism leans on the Roman Catholic interpretation of Christianity that soul and body are split. That way for a long time the Western World believed in a discontinuity between humans and animals. Especially the research results with gorilla's of someone like Jane Goodall (not hindered by a rational university background) hammered a hole in this rigid thinking.

All though kept leaning on the Roman Catholic variant of Christianity. America embraced Capitalism and Christianity and Russia secular Communism. Communism destroyed most of Buddhism, before it itself was eaten by the hungry market forces of the Capitalist system. But still Buddhism survives and so does Islam. Especially in Buddhism rationalism is not favored for Ethics (ethical decisions).

'Apartheid' developed in South-Africa through massive immigration of individuals with strong egoistic motivation, and still using the Roman Catholic doctrine of split mind and body. This time used to see a difference between black people and less coloured ones. When black, then little soul. In the USA in the same way developed slavery. Industrialism seemed to move from England/France/Germany to America and through American occupation after WWII capitalist individualism or egoism came to until then more 'socialist' thinking Germany.
Succesful craftsmen for the great majority had remained in Europe. For them there was no reason to go to America. After WWII the USA started looting specialist from temporary poor Europe. As far as I as a Dutchman know the German cultures to me it seemed that though at present they have become industrial in them always was a dominant position for craftsmanship. Cultures where engineers were far more important than pure managers. So in this way WWII served as to seriously damage a force that kept a brake on industrialism. And severely damaged a culture that produced genial philosophers like Nietzsche and Marcuse. Though both were misunderstood. Industralism free from limits in its turn almost completely destroyed the ages working methods in agriculture.

The Machine

Perhaps the most important invention of Industrialism was the word 'machine'. The aimed for 'industry' needed creation means independent of human force. That's where 'the machine' came in. This in fact created the conditions for spreading of rationalism or 'machine-thinking' and inherently 'the mind-body problem'. Machines were supposed to be pure body, and for major part were thought to replace the unreliable, stubborn and inventive humans. More supicious one could say, a way to continue slavery. This time slaves are called workers, poor people or machines. In fact a moral system divising humanity in 2 groups: the minds or managers and the machines.

the managers the machines
In fact a division of humanity in 2 groups:

the minds or 'managers' and the machines

At present international institutions like the World Bank, IMF, NATO etc. are crowded with sympathetic managers with right motivation and one-sided logic

Hidden Leadership

In the originating countries of industrialism, France England and Germany, still a vast reservoir exists of brilliant technicians. Making amazing products like Concordes, cruisers like the Queen Elizabeth, Harriers, BMWs etcetera. RIDICULOUS to think that they need management,
they FEED managers.

Possibly some management is needed,
but NOT in the shape of totally inexperienced individuals who went straight from secondary school to university, and then to a job.

Respect Intelligence (flexible learning from reality) that grew through evolution by evaluating moods (Experience, Wisdom).
Unlike social study, to distinguish cultural fact and fiction takes many years of social experience.

it takes more than a tie and reading books to eat with chopsticks

Word wide 'Apartheid'

The unfinished world Management Empire (better to see it as a caste) is already rapidly changing in a world wide system of apartheid. Planes since many years had a Business Class. Just like that sections in hotels will be reserved for managers. All over the world Management Schools will pop up and be seen as the upper class of schools. Politics will become the sole area for managers. Restaurants will reserve a special area for in gray suits, and create special menu's for the well paying customers. Every organization will have 2 layers, 1 on top for managers and an executive layer for the work force. Special cabs for only managers will come into use. They might be gray with black stripes to distinguish them from the common yellow ones.

In India and South-Africa people might recognize the stealthy signs of a developing new caste or system of 'apartheid'.
The distinguishing trait is not being paria or black but being considered a 'worker'.
Workers who refuse to be exploited and fight a frustrating 'war for freedom' are treated as terrorists.

The Machine Gun: Ultimate product of Industrialism. TOTAL disrespect for life.
Batallion of Machine Gunners
(1.000 'workers' able to kill 50.000 in an hour)

Stand Alone Army (improved capacity)

What is needed now is a ghostbuster of Super Nietzsche proportions.

A fine example of the treacherous influence of 'industrialism' is the electric car. Introduced by General Motors around 1995 and immediately VERY succesfull. It was this sucess that killed the electric car. This unexpected huge attraction threatened automobile tycoons and oil billionaires. So GM claimed it didn't get enough orders, and completely stopped the project. But the electric car in many was did beat gasoline cars.
