Intermezzo, by Zarah2nd Young Americans make me feel optimistic. I sense a lot of drive and emotion. Madonna, Michael Jackson and others had a fine influence. After the age of 30 though most of that has disappeared. What worries me that American young people of around 22 say: "I've been around the world 2 times, I'm experienced now". They didn't see poor black Africa or poor South America. And of Asia only saw the Western parts of Bangkok and The Phillippines. They saw a lot of airports, and luxurous beach-parties, and imagine terrorism everywhere. Many young Americans show arrogant behavior that makes me feel ashamed Like saying Red Indians have no right to point to history. As if only brutal recent history of the Western World counts. The Enlightenment concept 'time' seems to creatie zombies without sense of history. The American Indian Wars have not learned young US citizens ANYTHING. They have a unique kind of togetherness, that feels safe if you're accepted.
But the US more and more behaves like an immense 'sect', in group-frenzy following a 'guru' called 'president'.
Creating a mood of being dominant killerbees and even easily accepting killing of 'terrorists'.. Although I like cartoons, war and science fiction movies, I was extremely worried when looking towards the US through eyes used to other cultural values than individualism, money and power. Because I noticed a worrisome amount of Dagobert Duck thinking, Rambo moods and more than slightly overdone nationalism. That is mirrored in U.S. governments. Puppets on a string with Batman-like ambitions. Of course in other moments balanced by reasonable thinking. Never before in history citizens of the dominant 'empire were when not attacked so 'nice'. But that balance is not stable. |

An insightful comparison: A HUGE colony of nicely dressed pinguins that has itself protected by seals disguised as US soldiers. Both pinguins and seals merrily juggle with plastic balls, but in search for food the seals slowly kill all life on earth.

Western Europe too got awfully rational, but first the U.S. 'zombies' should be shocked. The spirit of Kant's philosophy is generally in the Western World considered as the spirit of Enlightenment as a whole. Cultures are considered as modern when they have absorbed the Elightenment values 'freedom', 'rationality' and 'equality' (or 'Western Democracy'). Otherwise they are in American eyes considered 'primitive'. American protestants think progress can be achieved by adopting the ideals of the Enlightenment and the French Revolution. Maybe its good to remember what was the main difference between French Canada and the US. The French followed the English to the New World, and settled [Quebec in [1608]]. They did not allow the Huguenots (French Calvinists) to travel to the New World, and exactly calvinists (like later in South Africa) became a major power-block in the USA. Of course the mind body split already originated in Roman Catholicicism, but it was perfected in American Protestantism. Calvinist as hard workers (see labor as a way to weaken sin) were welcome in The New World, but had VERY dubious ethics.
The Dutch calvinist Groen van Pinksterer almost prophetical thought those ideals would turn out to be tyranny. He founded the
Anti Revolutionary Party. Nicely highlighting the difference between Continental European Protestantism and that of Anglican and American
Protestantism. In this point Calvinism showed frightening precision.

In the early 20th century, President George W. Bush's great grandfather, Samuel Bush, owned a steel factory producing rail-car parts. During World War 1 Sam Bush was given financial control of war effort. Huge government orders went to Rockefeller. Harriman's Union Banking Corporation in 1926 became a Bush family affair in partnership with the German Thyssen family. Fritz Thyssen's German Steel Trust was Germany's largest industrial corporation, and after WWII Thyssen proudly wrote that he financed Hitler. - President of Harriman G.W. Bush was made director of the CIA. The American Peace Corps in the 1970's was totally infiltrated by CIA. President Lyndon Johnson was a close friend of J. Edgar Hoover. The motor behind present US goverment behavior is next to Lutheranism also fundamental Baptism and orthodox Hebrew Behavior. US goverment already had concentration camps like Guantamo Bay (now closed), torture of 'potential terrorists' is standard practice. Justice more and more is ignored. US government camp already owns the major media. BUT : American Stock Exchanges (the American Dream) will 'implode'. The US Empire sinks into the mud. The downhill period, the slide into corruption. Cherishing the Strong Points
It is 'smart' for ALL cultures worldwide to realize that the dual dream of good versus evil that European immigrants created in the New World is a deviating dream (complete fantasy or 'virtual world'). It is based on the variant 'power thinking' as used in Enlightenment. Good-Evil thinking is potentially highly agressive, and INHERENTLY aiming for world dominance (rule by 'the good'). But this variant nevertheless developed talents that sure should be preserved.
